Candy Flower Vase

This is a cute candy flower vase.  You can substitute any candy and flower type to fit the occasion.  This one is shown with Valentine Candy Hearts, daisies, and a pastel ribbon around the vase.  This looks great on a desk, as a centerpiece, or even just on the shelf.  Easy way to decorate for the holidays or to ring in the new season!

Texas Trash

Typically Texas Trash contains pretzel, some kind of nut, and some kind of cereal mixed altogether with almond bark.  This is the family cookbook version!  Yummy!  Makes for a great salty-sweet snack!

Sugar-Free Chocolate Cookies

LOVE LOVE LOVE these cookies!  They are super easy to make and sugar-free!  They are shown here in the smaller bite-size, but of course they can be made on a larger scale!  Hayden likes them because they stay soft!

Peanut Butter Cheese Balls

Peanut Butter Cheese Balls!  Great when served with both green and red apples or wheat crackers.  Unique item for parties!  Great for both kids and adults.  This item can be served as an appitizer or a dessert.  It is very light tasting and won't weigh you down.  (This recipe cane from my family cookbook... Thanks to my great- Aunt Myrl!)

I wanted to show you that there are two ways to serve this dish.  The bigger plate shows an option great for buffet-style parties.  The smaller plate is more for individual servings.

Star Wars Lego Cake

This cake was the first time I ever used fondant.  I used it for the stars, on top of the legos, and for the lego jedi man.  The rest of the cake was covered in butter cream.  Looking back, there are a few things that I would have done differently, but overall I am happy with the results... and Hayden was happy with his cake!

Piano Cake

The cake base was made out of scrapbooking paper I picked out and shrink wrap!  The over-sized half sheet cake was a white cake, and the piano is made out of chocolate cake.  Butter cream covers everything except the piano bench cover, piano keys, and music sheet... those were made with fondant.  The piano keys and the "21" on top of the piano were both made with rice krispy treats.  Finally the pretty polka dot ribbon ties it all together.

Dragon Ball Z Birthday

Here is a picture of the cake!  Hayden says this character's name is King Kai.  He is made out of rice krispy treats and fondant... that is about all the fondant I can bare to use!  lol  The rest of the cake is sugar-free white cake (that was dyed blue) with butter cream icing.  (Sugar-free because my 8 year old is a health nut and made the request!  But it also was a nice treat for our diabetic family and friends!)  The blue stars are made from a candy mold I found.  (First time I ever made that kind of candy!)

So apparently in Dragon Ball Z, the characters collect Dragon Balls!  There are 7 Dragon Balls total.  They have 1-7 stars inside them.  I placed 7 cake balls, with the appropriate number of stars on the cake, and then made the rest into cake pops!  Hayden picked Butter Pecan flavored cake!  Yummy!
